Find something to follow, not an example, just an idea. Take it with you wherever you go, nurture it and make it stronger, but never release it, for it will die, and your efforts will have been wasted.
I find this to be true more often than not, because when i get a really great idea, i'm just bursting to share it with others, but once it leaves my mind and settles on the thoughts of others, it is beaten and torn at until i feel as if there was no point of even starting to think of it, because the idea has been ruined, plans reduced to ashes, and countless hours of time wasted thinking about something that no one cares about. If you really care about something, or if you have an idea to do something, don't tell anyone, just do it, and you will not be hindered, and your idea will not be tampered with or stolen, and you will be sucessful.
Also, if you are trying to accomplish something, don't doubt your abilities even for a second, or you will find that you will not be able to do what you are intending to do, and you will fail, utterly, miserably, even possibly with your life. You must think that you are able to do whatever it is that you need to do, and grip that thought in your mind with the strongest of mental talons. But don't make an effort, either, because if you strain at the idea of trying to stop yourself from thinking about something, you will lose your strength in other places.
You must think, and yet not think. Think outside yourself. Examine each thought that you have and let yourself know that one thing is ok to do, or something that you normally would do shouldn't be done, because the outcome would be bad or not as well as desired. This must also be done quickly, or you will waste your time contemplating, so you must almost know what you are going to think before you think it, and act without further thought as to whether the decision was right or wrong.
If it turns out that the decision was wrong, just keep in mind that since it already happened, there is no going back and changing it, so don't regret it, just learn from it and perform better next time that particular set of actions comes your way.
Furthermore, i leave you with this: Love is not, it leads you to dark places and impulsive decisions. Hate is not, for it leads you to paths of despair and loneliness.
If you are to enjoy something, do not love it, appreciate it. Be glad that this thing that you appreciate exists for you and others to enjoy and admire. If you are to despise something, do not despise it, but rather accept it, for if you are to spend your whole life wishing that something wasn't, it would be a waste of your life. Accept that these things exist, and if they bother you, just say "yeah, i know it bothers me, but it shouldn't concern me because i have other things to do", just put the thing out of your mind and focus on your task.
Do what you will and take what is given to you, do not complain, just go on with your life. Use what you have with care and do not waste what is given to you.
Also be aware of your life, your surroundings, your mind, your attitude, and be aware that you are alive. Take a few moments to just stop, and let the world drift away, and just breathe.
